I am very new to making clothes in SL (about 4 t shirts made to date) and am pulling my hair out on things that many of you probably faced a while back. I have been cheating somewhat using a simple t-shirt template that was kindly posted to the web, but now I have a need to make a tank top for someone: the template I am using has a black mask cover layer to effectively cut out the shirt, and my question is does anyone know where I can find a similar layer for a tank top? I appreciate that the Plan B is to make my own. Thanks in advance for any help. I am using Photoshop CS

Go straight to Plan B. That's the way clothes are made, unless you are simply duplicating someone else's work. The black mask you refer to is the mask that's used to create the alpha channel that determines which parts of your "fabric" will be "cut out" and therefore transparent in the final piece of work. Consult the stickies at the top of this forum to see how it's done. If you have Photoshop CS and a little creativity, it's a snap.
