Hello all ^^
Since the update, i am having an issue with skin.....namely the ankles.
I made a skin texture, just like i always do, which is exactly the same tone all over. However, fro some reason the ankles and below seem to be a much lighter shade than the rest of teh body. Can someone tell me why this is, and if there is a fix for it, or do i need to darken the feet even although they are the correct colour on the template.
Thanks a bunch..... look at the pic ^^

Ben, was this tatoo applied to an existing skin? Or did you create a new skin? In the last version I had a skin that drove me crazy - all sorts of strange shadows that definitely weren't on my textures. I created a new skin, applied my textures and voila! Perfect. PS: I love all of your products. Keep up the good work.

Are you using any kind of noise patter in the color or is it a truly solid tone at that seam? If you're using a noise blend of lighter and darker colors then the top of the foot may seem lighter due to stretching and the distribution of lighter pixels there.

I noticed this on someone's skin last night. Not a new skin, but was now evidencing the same effect. Additionally, I noticed for myself that when I put certain pants on, the leg tattoo I had on would display over the ankle portion of the pants, ie the bottom portion of the pants had the tattoo texture. Fairly silly looking. No help as to how to get around it.

I had a similar bug a while ago, except it was the length of the stockings I'd just taken off.
Thinking back I think I fixed it by altering my skin tone just a little, despite the fact I was wearing a skin that overrode that appearance. It forced a skin redraw and I've (touch wood) not had any trouble since. Of course it might not work for you, but it's worth a try isn't it?

In answer to your question chip, where the two join, there is no fading or blurring at all. Just solid tone, yet the tow dont seem to match up I'm going to eat my arms while i think about this

I've noticed that the light in SL 1.7 has changed, though I've changed nothing in my graphics parameters. At morning and afternoon conditions (not near high noon, in other words), the light seems to be more yellow. Light changes like this affect natural color skins like crazy, that I've seen. I haven't looked at my ankles, but I certainly will after this--ankles are maddening to do for me, since I carry skin texture all the way down these days and it's tedious scut work to eliminate that seam.

These may not apply to you Ben, but when I find myself unable to figure out a mystery like this I go back to the obvious or simple cause: 1. Opacity of the texture (you could check this by adjusting pigmentation on the sliders) 2. Texture bleed (I produce my skins with a full bleed matte flesh tone to minimize seem lines while textures rez)
