Maybe I am wrong but I thought bulk upload charged you 10.00 per file not per texture. I just upload 20 textures and used the bulk upload and was charged for each. Has it always been this way or did it change?

Yes, it's always been this way, but tell me, what are you defining as the difference between a file and a texture? Every single item in your computer that has a dot and then three letters after it is a file. That inculdes, well, everything. All images, documents, program components, songs, movies, etc, they're all individual files. Every texture is a file, so what did you mean when you said L$10 per file was somehow different than L$10 per texture?

Each texture is its own file, so ... yeah... what Chosen said.

Filenames don't have to have a three letter extension.

Filenames don't have to have a three letter extension. Chosen is still running MS-DOS 3.3 on a 286 machine. With DESQview. ![]() P2 _____________________

In game it says: Uplaod Image (L$10) Bulk Upload (L$10 per File) Im just going by what the game says. The way it is worded makes one think that bulk is still $10 as long as they are uploaded together. |

The way it is worded makes one think that bulk is still $10 as long as they are uploaded together. That is an interesting take on it. To me, it indicates that even though you are doing a bulk upload, you are being charged the same. As in, one action = Bulk Upload, though it is still $L10 per image file. _____________________

Filenames don't have to have a three letter extension. How did I know someone was gonna come along and say that? As I'm sure you were aware, I was trying to explain it in simplest terms. Since putting dot and 3 letters has been STANDARD naming convention for over two and a half decades now, I figured that was the easiest way to explain how to identify them to someone who appeared to be confused. Sure, technically speaking, files don't have to have 3-letter extensions, but since 99.999999999999999% of them do, I hardly felt it was worth confusing the matter further by mentioning that. _____________________

if im not mistaken you can upload different types of files at once, like a sound and a image.

Bulk upload is L$10 a file, like it says, not L$10 per folder or per use.. Although the mistake has been made before..
What would be the point in having the other options there if it was so? Uploading just one file would cost the same amount and it wouldn't go up what-so-ever.. It just allows you to upload more than one file type (sounds, images, animations) all in one go and without having to select each one, one after the other.. _____________________

Gabe Lippmann, not that i mind a quick and sharp response but the original question is what is the difference between upload X and bulk upload...
10$ per file, bulk allows you to slect any of the 3 types of upload rather its image animation or sound. its just not per texture it is per file. If you upload 20 images and 2 sound files it is 22$ in one window vs. 20 point click uploads for textures + 2 more for sounds .... this allows you to upload a orginised project at once. thats not getting into pre 1995 computer workings and questionable ects ... cheers ! |

I had a dream, where bulk upload was like buying things en masse from a bulk food store.
So I upload 10, get 1 free. Wouldn't that be schweet? ![]() _____________________

L yea, it would keep ll databases from storing useless test data only if they provided a incentive for getting it right the first time
maby then the asset server wouldnt suck from having 15 test copys of the same thing stored hehe |
