I think the gist is...

Someone is obviously selling Brand names in SL and thinking they can get away with it!

i mean if you like a RL brand name of bags have at least decency to use another name for them, change them a bit and dont post the RL picture of them as preview gosh...

But yes...there are a few people out there usin' rl designer names and designs on their clothes...which, to me, is a sad sign of missing creativity...sigh.

I've often wondered what a simple phone call to a company's legal department would do. Probably open up a huge can of worms for a lot of SLers.

Some clothing companies have sent cease and desist letters to people doing skins for the Sims based on existing designs.

I guess the same thing could happen in SL.

C&D letters aren't uncommon in the game mod community.

i suspect there will come a point when an SL brand owner competing with one of these knock-offs will become so frustrated they'll make that phone call.

Usage of established trademarks, particularly (but not limited to) for profit, isn't allowed in SL. Examples would include the Nike swoosh, the Kodak logo, and the Louis Vuitton name.
