For the past two days I've been trying to make a nice pair of jeans. I've downloaded denim textures from the web and even made a couple of denim textures of my own. They all looked really good as a texture in photoshop.

Then I make my jeans, things are still looking good. Once I upload it looks like a pair of tweed or plaid pants though. It's driving me crazy!!!!

Here's a cut of what they look like on my body in game. And a copy of what they started as. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!!!

the pattern is too big looks like. see if you can make your denim texture into a repeatable one and make a big smooth area of the texture then scale it down. that will make it less tweedy.

well........easiest way is to look around online for a denim texture that already is repeatable. :D

also this thread will help out with making a texture repeatable if you can't find one.

for textures you could try this texture site or this other texture site (click on 3D textures). i bet one of those has a decent repeating denim texture.

once you have your texture read the photoshop help about the Pattern Stamp tool and making patterns. you'll use it to turn the texture into something you can fill big areas with. then make an image bigger than your clothes, fill it with denim, size it smaller to get rid of the ridges if you still have those and go from there. sorry to be vague but i could write a book about just this one thing. :D

hope this helps.

There's a tileable denim in the SL Library attached to your inventory. You can download any of these textures and work with them to build stuff. I also attached it to this post for simplicity's sake.

It isn't anything remarkable, but it should get you started. :)
