Ok, so I am trying to make eyeshadow in Photoshop. I'm having issues with the alpah masks. I made it and i have it selected, but when I save, it isn't transparent where I want it to be. The black means transparent the whit means not transparent. It isn't working. I'm also saving it as a TGA 32bit or w/e.

Have a look at the sticky thread on alpha in this forum; if you are trying to make just eyeshadow you probably need to select the layer you drew on, save the selection as an alpha channel (only one alpha channel per image or photoshop won't export any!) and add a 100% black layer under the eye shadow to prevent white fringing.

I suggest playing around with some simple images with alpha; make a 512x512 image, try painting layers with different alpha levels and exporting a TGA file with the desired results (the upload preview in SL will be enough to tell if you got it right, no need to actually upload)

However, this can cause dark fringing. What you really want to do is extend out the colors on the outside of the eyeshadow. Fortunately, there's a free plug-in that will do this for you:

The filters you'd want are called Solidify (there's three of them; they each produce a slightly different result).
