Eboni Khan has been kind enough to add a detailed visual tutorial on using Photoshop CS to create transparencies to the SLuniverse Knowledge Base, as a companion to the Paint Shop Pro tutorial. The full tutorial can be viewed here.

Just a note, Eboni may want to update the tutorial to include how to matte the image to avoid the dreaded white halo effect. As I've said previously, unless you provide Photoshop with a matte background (with a color similar to the image's color) it uses White as the background color -- hence the halo.
Just thought I'd head off questions from people saying "but I have a white halo..." _____________________
