Hi,

I want to buy your self made cloth and skins, off course I only want high quality.

for a full outfit I pay L$ 150 (still need 5men and 5woman outfits)
For a full skin I pay L$ 200 (still need 5 skins 3womand and 2 men, also funny skinns are welcome, like elvis, beavis and butthead, you name it)

What do I need them for?
I'm building a shop and off course I will make some myself, but I dont have experience with photoshop yet (still learning) but want to earn some money. therefor I need modify, copy and resell options on.

please drop me a message if you can help me with it, I would really appriciate it.

I will only buy them from you after I've seen them and think I can make profit of it.

Just so I'm clear: You want to purchase what I've made and modify it, then sell it as your own creation?

Ha ha ha ha! You're going to offer someone a crappy L$200 to make FULL-PERMISSIONS skins and clothes for you, to be resold as your creations, something you could potentially profit from INDEFINITELY? Good luck finding a sucker!

I'll sell you my skins for L$5 per pixel.

But seriously, try posting this in the Products Wanted or Services forums. This is just flat out in the wrong spot.

Guys go easy, new people don't necessarily understand the economy and pricing system in SL and make silly mistakes like this before they learn any better.

So instead of sodomizing him/her with the really extra-large dildo, just use the large one. But no lube.

New or not Janus if your intent is to sell items others have created, then I will give you a quick example why this idea will not work:

I make an outfit including shoes, skirt, and top. Let's say it takes me two hours to complete. I sell this in my shop for $L150. Let's say I then sell 10 of these in a week and make $L1500. Those two hours grossed me about US$5 that week.

I sell this same outfit to you for $L150, and my two hours now equals US$.55. You change the color or add a button and sell it for $L200. Now It makes no sense for me to do this.

It's financially silly.

Decent skins for $L200? I'm not brave enough to go there. Negative numbers hurt my brain.

You may want to research the market a bit more and come up with a new idea.

Just a thought.

Actually this was mentioned as my first step into research, but I didn't say that in my start post, because If I start this as a likely serious question I will get the best and most honest answers, lik now ;)

Now I have a better view at the market I can change my plans, and yes I'm really thinking about creating a network with creators and sales people

Janus, I will suggest that you spend some more time shopping, and get a better idea of what things sell for in SL, and of what sort of quality people expect for what prices.

Can you buy a skin (single copy, for your own use) for L150? Probably. Will it come anywhere close to a L$4000 skin from Celestial Studios or one of Namissor's lovely creations? Not on your life - unless it's a stolen copy, or the artist wanted to make a gift to the community to get their name more well known.

If you want someone to give you permission to re-sell something they spent hours of real time working on, you need to do one of two things.

Offer them FAR more L$ than you intend to sell it for, like 10 to 50 times the single-copy retail price, in exchange for unlimited resale rights. You could profit from it indefinitely - and they did the work to make it. At least offer to pay them what their time is worth, in real dollars. As an example, I made a custom outfit for a club owner, that he planned to make available to his staff, and to sell to club patrons. It had his club name on it, but the design itself was made by me in a way that I could re-use 95% of the work to make similar outfits with differnet fabric prints. So he got his outfit for 10X the suggested retail price, with exclusive "resale/copy/give it away for free" rights to the dress in THAT ONE FABRIC, while I retained the right to sell the same outfit in other colors and fabric styles.

OR - Offer them a partnership, and split profits from the sales. You pay for the store locations and advertising, they do the creative work, and maybe you split the sales 30% to you and 70% to the creator of the item. Many vending systems allow you to automaticly split sales profits like that.

If you are truly in the research stage of your business planning, you may try actually asking an honest question rather than making a statement of what you will and will not be paying as you did in your initial post.

You will find people are far more receptive when you are honest and open as to your intent.

Since your offer could be viewed as insulting you not only risk alienating the content creators you desire to work with, but what ever credibility you may have had is now diminished.

Although I don't post, I do so enjoy reading the forums. The OP has to be one of the most amusing posts I've read in a long time.

Thank you kindly for the giggle Janus.

Janus, Honestly the reason why the people who make money, make money is because of their content. I have a novel on Amazon right now. It makes some money. This required a chunk of my life.
All of use here sacrifice our free time to give something into SL to benefit others. We enjoy this.
I respect you want to create fashion house here. That's cute. I doubt it will work. Why?
Because anyone with the talent to make stuff that sells and is unique enough to be different is already their own fashion house. Take Namssor Daguerre for example.
Her (it is her?) skins are awesome and handmade, so they look real and command a price.
Me, I have Facegen and other tools used by professionals. However, I don't the skill she does.
I could easily make you an elvis face or Bevis & Butthead. But I would have to charge you the price in real world dollars. $15 an hour plus the in world time to add prims for hair etc. This would easly reach of $100.
My suggestion is either learn to make it yourself and partner with others or find something else.

I was just wondering if $150 represent $150K and the same for the $200, is that $200K?
