How I made my robe was I did regular jacket, skirt layer and prim sleeves and belt. Prims I used were cylinders taper for sleeves, Belt made thin, belt parts used path cut. The others I have seen have additional prim things on back. I suggest you just explore, find a fabric or make fabric texture either and experiment. It will probably take many tries but you'll get it. Just takes practice.

Most of the kimonos that I have use two tapered cylinders for the waist-wrap of the obi. One is tapered smaller on top, and is attached to pelvis of stomach, while the other is tapered smaller on the bottom and is attached to the spine. You do this so it looks right when the bodu moves and bends. For the bow on the back, those parts go with the top half of the waist prims, and are typically a flattened torus for the flat loop, and maybe a couple flexi flattened box prims for the ends of the sash hanging down.
I'd really recommend purchasing a couple of kimonos and taking a look at how they are constructed. It will be a faster way to learn than anything anyone here can teach you. Nothing beats looking at the actual prim product.
