Alright, I'm not a total noob to texturing, to date i have created a halfway decent Pokemon trainer jacket, and a rather nice (if i do say so myself) Furry body texture, but now i want to do my AV's tail and muzzle/ears/cheek prims but don't wanna go ahead with attempting it without having a general idea what i'm doing. So, how would i texture a roughly rectangular prim so that i can get a white fur texture on the bottom and part of the sides, while still getting the upper half the blue i want it to be? And please don't direct me to any in world tutorials you may have. being a poor 56k-er as I am, its an hour chore to walk from one side of an area to the other, however, if you don't want to post it here, you could e-mail me as well. Ahhh! And I was about to send you to my in-world texture tuts, too. Good thing you warned me!
![]() Basically, in order to do this, you'll need to texture the faces separately. You'll want one texture for the top of the prim, another for the sides, where the top and bottom colors blend, and a third for the bottom. You can put them all on the same texture map if you want, and just use the Offset so that different portions of the map are visible. The advantages to doing it that way are that you don't have to decide exactly where you want what before you upload, since you can tweak it once it's in place. It will also load a little faster, since it will be one texture, not three separate ones. But, however you do it, you'll need to click on the radio button next to Select Texture, and then click on the faces you want to texture. You'll see a white outline around each square of the map, with a circle and crosshair in the middle, to help you with the placement. Just use the Offset fields on the Texture tab to get the texture on each face where you want it. (Or use the normal Texture thumbnail to apply separate maps, if you decide to go that route.) You can shift-click to select several faces, so you can do both sides at once. And that should do it for you! Good luck with it. _____________________
