I want to make my own T-shirt with a picture on it.
I uploaded the picture I want as a .bmp and made a texture of it. When I use this texture on my T-shirt, the picture covers my whole shirt ..... and I only want a picture on my shirt, say on my chest or something...
What should I do????

This question is for the Design and Textures forum. That's where you'll get the best response. Can a mod move it please?
In the meantime, look in the stickies at the top of that forum for information about how to create clothing. Hope it all makes sense!

What should you do? Read a little bit. Look at the forum stickies to find tutorials. The very first entry in the tutorials sticky is a t-shirt tutorial. If you use google to find "second life" and "t-shirt" the very first result is a t-shirt tutorial.

Ron, Been there, done that... got the T-shirt (pun intended)
Go to the downloads page and download the clothing template for the upper body.
Look at it carefully.
The part that is a shirt is in the lower left corner. You need to resize your graphic to fit in that area and overlap it using photoshop or some other graphics program. And then upload THAT graphic and apply it.
If you can, do a search for... i believe her name is "Robin Sojourner". Look at her picks. She has a free tutorial in her store for how to do this, and a link to her website which has a much more detailed tutorial as well as a better template than the p-o-s that Linden provides.

The link to Robin's excellent (Photoshop based) T-shirt tutorial is here: http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLTutSet.html

the original thread from Resident Answers has been merged with this one.
it's always useful to post questions in an appropriate forum, which will give better results for your question/s and increase forum usability at the same time.

I just wanted to throw an endorsement out for Robin Sojourner's template and tutorial. They're very clear and easy to use. I used them yesterday and now I'm wearing my very own t-shirt design. I feel this could become addicting
