Hi All its me again.....

I am trying to create a shadow at the bottom of my t shirt. Its kind of hard to explain really, but Ive noticed that when i buy some clothing it has shadows between the skin and the clothing, for instance a tshirt may have a shadow at the very bottom of the material to make it look more realistic. I can create a shadow at the end of my tshirt but how do i then make it part of the alpha so that it can be seen when uploaded onto my AV?? I hope u can understand wot im talking about....Im not sure I do anymore lol :-))

Im uploading a snapshot of wot I mean, from this pic u can see that at the bottom of the shirt (if thats wot u can call it) there is a shadow, now thats wot Im talking about !!

It looks like it's there to me :) Basically you want the alpha for the shadow to be a shade of gray. The closer to black the more transparent it will be. The closer to white, the more opaque. Clothing shadows tend to look best when they're subtle so I recommend keeping the alpha close to black, maybe half way between middle gray and black or darker.

Chip is an expert, I am just an idiot who tries to help, sometimes by translating from expertise into ez-speak 8-)

Your alpha channel (not layer) probably is black over the skin, and then white where the shirt is. Is that right? If you go along right at the boundary between black and white, *on the alpha channel* and paint a dark gray stripe, then it will look like a shadow.

This requires software that does channels, such as Gimp or Photoshop, or many others.

I hope I explained this right. If not, my apologies, and the experts will tell you better.
