Need a tutorial or advice for animating water in say a painting thats uploaded ,for example a waterfall and all I want to move is the water parts

One way to do this is with texture animation with frames same as cartoons. There may be other other ideas from other forum readers. If you have a paint program that uses layers you could have the water that changes on one layer and the static part on another layer. You would create 4, 9 or 16 frames in a single texture and play them on a flattened cube. Or you could have the water only on one prim and use alpha channel transparency so the static texture on another prim behind it shows through.

Ty Sylia for that info and I will try it out, Was I clear in what I was wanting though ? its like these viewers u see in game that have a painting framed and theres maybe like a river running next to a old mill and the water is moving like if it were real?
