I'm trying to create several signs for use ingame - but the text keeps becoming all fuzzy, both when I create it, and worse when I apply it as a texture. How do I prevent this? (For example the text on the various rent-o-matics stays quite clear, regardless of size.)

What size template are you applying your text/design to in your paint program? I would suggest 256x128 or 512x256.They should keep the resolution ok.

Also, never save work in prograss as a .jpg ,it loses quality the more you save it. Save in a lossless format, such as .png or .PSD. When you're ready to upload it into SL,save the copy you intent uploading in a .tga format.

Hope that helps.
