I made a texture for some pants and the waist has some detail in it but when I use the same texture for a skirt the waist isnt right. The skirt textures appear to be lined up differently to pants. If this is so then how does one make a skirt so that the textures look correct, particularly around the waist? Also I noticed the waist of the skirt cannot be raised and lowered like the pants. The skirt waist is very high, I mean apparently high waists are back in vogue but SL skirt is ridiculous. Who wears a skirt that comes up almost under the armpits? (slight exaggeration lol)

I tried making a texture with the waist cut off but then theres this sort of sticking out gap around the top. What is the solution for this?

The best fix I have seen is to make a prim-belt that fills in that gap. (^_^)

If you are using Chip or Robin's templates, the skirt match lines are a great help. The upper body and skirt templates really do line up if you are extremely careful. Matching across them does involve a lot of trial fitting and, if the texture is complex, a fair amount of smudging, burning, and dodging to fudge the area at the join. Like Imnotgoing, though, I often find that the most asthetic solution is a belt. The other possibility is to make prim skirts instead.

I hope you are not trying to do what I tried to do when making a skirt and a matching pants set. :) I thought I could use the same texture I used for the skirt to make pants. My thinking was that the mesh would wrap to the legs when applied to pants clothing maker in appearance and not using the skirt mode. :) That don't work........LOL

The skirt template and lower body template are completely different in location when put on the avatar. No way around it, you have to make two different textures.....one for pants and one for the skirt.
