If you folks here don't wander over to RA you may have missed the fact that LL has given the SL Forum the official axe- they are migrating to some thing or another and maybe you folks may like it there or not. If you would like choices, there is SecondLife Universe for one and now the folks at SecondCitizen II have created a whole forum just for us Forum ex-pats - here is the link- I truly hope you folks will consider it. Thanks for the link Amaranthim. I'll it in mind but, I'm going to give the "new forums" a shot first. I'm just not the type run off stamping my feet because someone with the authority makes a change.
My thoughts are that a forum such as this will certainly be incorporated into the new system. Some forums will definitely not find their way to the new systems....such as the "Technical Issues" which in my thinking will be unfortunate. All the speculation about how crappy the new system will be are, in opinion, quite premature......and unfair too.

Thanks, Amaranthim. I don't know yet whether I'll end up there or in SLU. Maybe both. Second Citizen at least runs vBulletin (in the current version!!), so its format is familiar. I don't know where most of the other regular contributors to these forums are going to end up, but it looks like most of them are headed to one of the third-party providers. The new LL blogorum isn't a forum at all. It's running on a blog software and it's virtually impossible to use for the sorts of things we do here in the Content Creation forums. That simply isn't a viable option, as far as I'm concerned.

I'll give the new system a try, and see how well it works. If it turns out it's not viable, I'll explore other options. I wanna give the new "forums" the benefit of the doubt before I do anything else.

I'll also be giving the new venue a spin before making any final decision about moving on. If it turns out to be a dead zone then I'll probably move to SLU, where there is already a similar but broader content creation section going.
