Hi, Patrick. You're right in saving the file as a TGA. The background is still white becuase you need to save the TGA in 32 bit with an accompanying alpha channel. The alpha channel should have a black background with the letters of your sign in white. The easiet way to do that is make the alpha as a seperate layer then copy and paste it in the channel section. Then when you save the TGA, make sure you've got the alpha channel you made selected along with the layer your sign graphics are on. I use Adobe, so I don't know the exact procedure you need for Paintshop. But the important thing is you need to make your own alpha layer. Hope this helps.

Select the area you want to be transparent
Go to the layers menu
Layers> Load/Save Mask> Save Mask to Alpha Channel
Be sure to name the channel "Alpha 1" (No quotation marks.
Save it as a .tga. But be sure to set it to save it as a 24 bit TGA (Yes yes, its supposed to be 32 bit. Well PSP doesnt do 32 bit. 24 bit here works fine).
Thats it.
