It seems lately my avatar is having problems with clothing . I never had this problem before , When I put on certain shirts or my shoes parts of my body become black, these items never gave me problems before. I was wondering if this is affecting others or if something is wrong on my side. Thx

Tonight, many people are running around with skin/clothing problems. The most common appearance is the words "missing image" spread across a person in a bizarre way. You are not alone and the Lindens are aware of it.

If your problems are just tonight then I wouldn't worry about it. The grid is borked. If this has been going on for a while then most likely you have an item with scrambled cache textures. If you can narrow it down to a particular item that causes the problem when you wear it, go in to appearance mode with it on and check to see if it looks correct in the thumbnail images in the appearance window. If it does then you probably have a bad texture in your cache. Try making a minor adjustment to the item if it's modifiable and resaving, or go in to the debug menu and force the client to rebake your avatar textures.
Another thing to try is reducing the avatar composite limit in the advanced graphics preferences. That seems to help some people avoid having it reoccur.

It happened because I use dual monitors (which apparently is not supported in SL) and had at one point pulled my SL window to my secondary monitor. Since dual monitors are not supported it messed up the display.
Here is his fix
Log out of SL disable your 2nd monitor (under Start: Control Panel System: Hardware: Hardware Profile: Display Adapter) - this requires a restart. launch SL make sure the debut console is enabled (control alt D) Click client: Character: Rebake Textures. Log out of SL Re-enable your 2nd monitor and (which required another restart) to quote him, " (DO NOT EVER MOVE TO THE SECONDARY MONITOR)"
this worked like a charm.
After a little bit more discussion, he told me that SL doesn't support dual monitors because SL is so graphics intensive that in order to allocate graphics rendering accurately, they have to make sure it get's the majority of resources.
