Ok, I'm new at this, and I don't get it... :) After a few days trial and error and a some headaches, I have decent skin made except for the eyelashes!

I have Chip's templates and I see the eyelash area in the right of the head template (although it ISN'T shown on the SL templates). I just don't get what I'm supposed to do with that area. Do I need to make part of it transparent so the eyelash flap won't look solid? Do I add color the to area? I'm at a loss here, everything I try gives me odd results.

Have a look at the head_alpha tga file in the character folder of Second Life.

That's the standard eyelash alpha... you need that or something similar in the corner of your face texture alpha. Just shade that eyelash area on the template in a solid block of whatever colour you want your eyelashes to be.

If you don't want to worry about the eyelashes, use the head_alpha.tga file as an alpha guide on your skin template for defining the transparent area in the upper right. Erase the eyelash pixel information from the interior of that space to make the upper right area fully transparent. This will let the default black eyelashes bleed through onto your skin. The only reason you need pixel information in that area is if you want to tint the eyelashes any color other than the default black. In that case you will want to use the same head_alpha.tga file to define only the eylash information. Don't just fill that area with a solid color. You will again get "Unilash". Download and copy the attached file here into your channels on your skin template and this will work well for tinting eyelashes.

Thank You,

Perhaps I should have said attached image (which is actually a file). I see a big black square with little lines in the upper right. If you see the same, right click on the image and choose "save image as".
