okay i'm making a piece of clothing a jacket that I can't make all the parts from the template (the avatar just doesn't accomodate the lines etc ) I came to the conclusion I will have to use prims which is fine..

Im' at the stage where I have done most of the jacket and am attempting to arrange these prims to get the effect I want. ONly thing is its very hard to use my own avatar for this.

Is there a dummy/ manaquin that is of decent enough proportions that can be used for this? Keep in mind I am doing this part inside SL (the blender etc never tried but I keep hearing it comes up with wierd solutions to sl issues)

Probaly not but i thought I would ask its mainly because i am at a stage where i need to link and doing this on an avatar its not really possible to do it properly i need to have it on a guy on a stand or something so that I can fart with it..

thanks
Wilhelm

You can try changing your own avatar shape and standing yourself on a pose stand.

Possibly try hiring someone to stand for you. Just pay slightly higher than a camp chair and I'm sure you will get someone.

You could also launch two SL clients and dress up your alt.

I think SLEX has a mannequin for sale. I found it. There's a female version too.

Wilhelm,

Maybe you've already done this, but build it unattached to your avie. Just stand on the stand and move/build the prims around you. You can copy and texture all you want that way. Then, link it all together and attach. You'll need to position it then, but once it's positioned, it's done!

yeah tried that its just when i start fine tuning i attach and then find i have to take it all off and half is not right and i need to copy one here or that shape just does't work hehe.. optical illusion mostly. i find its larger then it should be even though it appears to be the right size etc.. anyhow thought i might try a mannequin perspective is killing me hehe

eventually I will get it figured out I am sure (shoulda seen me with my first pair of boots ...)
