White collar Kimono

Konbanwa All!!

I have just graduated to a Geisha and I have to have a white collar on my kimonos. I noticed that very few of the kimonos in stores have a white collar built into the shirt. Im dying to know how they did it.

Someone said they might have used an undershirt however the one that was given to me as my graduation gift is just a single shirt.

I have Gimp installed on my computer and I did a great tutorial on makeing a template.

That still doesnt answer my question about how they offset the texture on the v-neck to have that white crisp rim on the edge around the neck..

Kimonos can be costly and as a Geshia they are known to have alot of them. Before I had a bulky prim collar that I wore and now I dont have to deal with that "if" I can find kimonos that have the white rim. (which very few do)The only ones that I have found are 300 and up and I still want to learn to do it myself.

Any tips are appreciated!

Is this the type of neckline your looking for? I made these in photoshop but i also have gimp and may be able to figure out how to do the same thing in gimp.

Ohh Thank you for replying!! Yes that little strip of white is what I am looking for. those photos are almost exactly what I want. I have Gimp if thats ok program to use. please let me know how much you charge for a class.

There are some others on SLExchange that also have white collars, though it's kind of hard to tell because the model is wearing a white skin. Might be worth looking into, though That merchant has several available, and several in-world locations to check out. You could contact her and see if she has time to show them off in person, as well.

is there a market for kimonos? they do not look hard to make... maybe I should make some, and sell them at a decent price.

I would have to do some research though as I have no idea how a kimono is supposed to look hehe

Kimonos sell well in SL. But you can't make an "Accurate" Kimono, because it is impossible to make the sleeves right, as part of the dress itself. The best you can do is to add flexi-prim attachments to the arms to simulate the sleves.

I wear Kimono a lot, and I have yet to see one with really good sleves.
