I'm trying to make big platform shoes. I'm pretty new to SL. I've searched the forums but couldnt find anything about this. How do I make big platform shoes and have them not go throught the ground when I attatch them to my feet? Is there some way that anyone knows of?
I saw one person walking around with big mechanical stilts. so I think its possible, I just dont know if its super complex, or just some simple thing I overlooked.
Thank you

You csn increase the platform on the shoes, and then make an attachment to make them look normal...
I'm no shoemaker myself, so I can't give details, but it is possible...
Speak to one of SLs better shoemakers... Viola Bach or Nephileine Protagonist...

it wont work. you cant make normal shoes 5 feet tall. changing existing shoes or your appearance wont fix what i'm trying to do. i need to figure out a way to effectively make circus stilts.

I have not tried this, so no idea if it would work, but have you tried making the shoe attachments Physical? I know with the Physical Property checked on a prim, the prim basically becomes solid and will not go through other solid items. Or something to that affect. Anyway, I guess something to try if you have not already. Good luck!

thanks. yeah I had tried that already. I think when prims are attatched they automatically go phantom.

From: someone Originally posted by Erzebet Engel thanks. yeah I had tried that already. I think when prims are attatched they automatically go phantom. That is kind of weird when you think about it, because if this were always the case, then people couldn't have snowboards that attach, or vehicles even. Maybe it has to do with a script being in the prim. Ahhh! I bet that is it. I bet you would have to make them and put in a script that would affect how the person stands on the prim. Scripting of course is no where NEAR in my league, but you may be able to get someone to help you.

It's not for me to disclose trade secrets on how she did it, but Launa Fauna has a pair of lovely prim pumps that do NOT sink into the ground. I have been wearing them all week (still am) and they are fantastic. They should be going on sale soon if they are not already.
