If your tattoo is not on an alpha layer then your skin will not be clear on the avatar.

I use GIMP and basically all you do is use the clothing template, create an alpha layer and put your graphics on that layer. Then you make the other layers unseen and save your file as a tga. It tells you that it cannot do that to layers and that you have to export first and you say ok. Walla. A tattoo graphic.

The next step is pretty simple. Upload the graphic. When you upload it you should see your graphics floating on a clear background. If it is not clear then you saved your tga incorrectly and you need to go back and make those other layers unseen.

Once you have your graphic loaded you EDIT - APPEARANCE - tshirt... make all of the values 100 then pick your tattoo as the texture.

Done. Congrats, you made a tattoo.

I know in Photoshop, in the Alpha channel, what ever you don't want to show is in black, what you do want to show is in white. If you want some transparancy, various shades of grey.

Ok , here is what is hapening, my alpha channels have a light gray tint to them, there not a white and black square look. They are a light gray and black, i dont know what is causing this, i did think it was cause i wasnt editing my images on a hole new section, i was opening my templates then i was opening my images, then i copyd my images then i went back to my template page, and i edited them there on that page, but when i upload the image on a alpha channel they have a grey and black square instead of a white and black, i belave this is what is causin me to have a tint on my body

to meka a proper alpha mask it needs to be 100% white and 100% black. and shades in between will show as degrees of transparency.

The best way to do this is make your tat on a seperate layer then use the magic wand to select the area around it until you have just the tat unselected. next go to selection and choose invert so you only have the tat selected then go to channel tab and make a new alpha layer. this should give you an alpha mask with just the tat in white and the background in black.

click to make the alpha visible and you will see a red tint to the areas that are masked. go back to your layers tab and turn off any layers you dont need then save as a tga file. when prompted save as 32bit tga as the extra 8 bits are the alpha channel

hope this helps

First i would like to thank all of you for your time and inputs on my problem, i have figured out what my problem was, aprently when doin images for tats on psp 11 u have to turn ur shade all the way down to 0, Since i was not doin this and had it on 16 i was getting a shade on my tats when i put them on my body, and this was throwin off my skin color. Again thank you all for your help, people like u guys give people like me more drive to get things like this done
