Would someone please make me 3 simple alphas from these JPEG images? All I want is the black corners to be transparent. The same mask can be used for all 3. (Well, give or take a pixel or two, but if the opaque part is small enough one will work for all.)

Do this for me and I'll rate you and also reward you with a little bit of bling for you or your honey, in both colors. Or if you prefer, two gemstones to place in jewelry of your own design, complete with customizable bling (but no-copy).

You can also use the resulting images as you like; I will upload them if you email them to me.

Thanks!

Thanks Dante!

I guess I used the wrong words. I need 3 TGA files, with an alpha channel like the one you made.

But thanks, regardless :)

Cheers,
Jeff

Duh .. sorry about that. I can do that for you in a little bit. the file uploader doesn't show TGA as a valid attachment but I'll zip them up for you. Have to head home for dinner but take a look in about 3 hours, they'll be waiting. :)

For the next time:

Download and install the windows version of GIMP (www.gimp.org)

Image -> Mode -> RGB (if you can't its already RGB)

Layers -> Transparency -> Add Alpha Channel

Use the Magic Wand Tool to select each black area

Edit -> Clear

Save (just add .tga to the file name - it will save to that format automagically)

Thanks everyone!

Yes, I will have to dive into GIMP eventually. Though, I don't see myself as a texture guy in general, this is probably a one-off project. But who knows, so thanks for the pointers!

And Dante, thanks a ton. You'll be hearing from me ingame.

Cheers
