Are you intending to facilitate the instruction of multiple people in ongoing courses, or is this a request for private lessons for you? Do you own site licenses for this software which you intend to allow the instructor(s) to use, or did you expect the instructor(s) to purchase this rather expensive conferencing media?

I guess I'm curious about exactly how you intend to proceed with this project since your initial post is not very detailed.

I share all of Beryl's questions, plus one more.

First, if the objective is to teach people how to texture for SL, then why not use SL itself as the classroom setting instead of these other programs? SL makes a wonderful teaching forum. I've given Photoshop lessons in the past by simply uploading screenshots to make a slideshow, and then using an arrow made of prims as a pointer while I explain what to do. This technique is simple, easy to follow, and most importantly, requires no third party software since everything takes place right in SL.

It seems to me that to use third party conferencing programs to teach SL is to deny the teaching power already inherent within SL. Why reinvent the wheel?

I currently teach courses online using Breeze Live web conferencing tool and Ingenio for the phone services. You set your per min rate for calls you receive minus Ingenio's 30% cut for each call. Web Conferencing such as Breeze Live or Live Meeting have pay per use plans (.32cents per min per seat for Breeze and .33 per min per seat for Live Meeting).

I am wanting to expand my website to include tutors that could teach various software applications. Each tutor would be responsible for setting up their own Ingenio & pay per use Web Conference acct.

It's free to setup. However, it does require a vaild credit card to setup with Ingenio as well as Breeze Live.

Teaching software application in SL is OK. In my opinion, using web conferencing tools and voice has a greater learning curve. Not to mention that tutors can share applications and converse on a personal level as well as cutting down the preparation time for the instructor.

The objective here is to offer a service that is more connected to the user's needs. If someone wants to know how to make a particular clothing then we can customize the lesson for that particular individual.
