Hello, hope someone in this forum can help me. My partner in SL has started making sculpted trees...we need a leaf texture to use..so far we've only found tree textures and we've looked around a LOT...all our usual haunts and a lot of new ones..
any ideas please?

Go outside. Grab a leaf. Bring it inside. Scan it. Alpha it. Done.

Using images you find on Yahoo or Google for commercial use can land you in a lot of hot water! Try this site www.sxc.hu or www.turbosquid.com or www.renderosity.comThe first one is a free (free, royalty free, creative commons) site that houses TONs of photography from around the world. The other two are stock sites but more for the developer/merchant in mind. You can find just about anything you need on those sites for free or very little money (under $10 USD). Just make sure you read the EULA before going nuts with the items - most of them forbid the direct redistribution but you are free to use it in artwork you create for sale.

Sioxie is absolutely right. Do NOT use anyone else's imagery without permission. Just because something is posted somewhere on the Internet doesn't mean you're allowed to grab it and do with it as you please. Respect copyright, and respect the human beings who own those images.
The best thing to do is make your own textures from scratch, which is why I suggested you simply scan a leaf and call it a day, if a leaf is all you need. It would take you all of 30 seconds. But if you're really not going to do that, then make sure you only use images for which there is a royalty-free license, or for which you've purchased a commercial license.
