Are u using PS or PSP? Or is this in-game clothing?
If it is PS or PSP, you need to make alphas for your clothing, and sae them as 32-bit targas. Tons of tutorials on how to make clothing here on the forums. Search for Robin Sojourner as well. I learned a lot from their website. Hope this helps. Elle |

Hmm..I use CS2...I had a lower version, not sure if 6 or 7 and it didn't want to save in targa or something like that, so I had to upgrade.
Do a search for ALPHA or Photoshop tutorials on this forum. Search bar is up top. Or even do a google search for it. Tons of free PS tutes out there. It's how I learned most of it. Elle ![]() |

From the Transparency Guide stickied at the top of this forum, here are the relevant answers to your question from the FAQ section:
How come the transparent areas of my image appear white in SL instead of transparent? If this is happening, it's because your image contains no alpha channel. Whithout the alpha channel present, SL has no way of determining which pixels are supposed to be transparent since the alpha channel is what contains all the transparency data. Without it, the only data present in the image is color data. Since the "transparent" pixels have no color, SL interprets them as white. To solve the problem, make sure your image contains an alpha channel, and that you've saved it as 32-bit TGA. This guide contains a ton of information on what alpha channels are, how they work, and how to make them, so keep reading. How do I make alpha channels? Below the FAQ section is a tutorial section with specific instructions for creating alpha channels in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and Paint Shop Pro. What about automated alpha channel plug-ins? I’ve seen one for Photoshop mentioned on this forum. Does it work? The file in question is actually the TGA saver plug-in from Photoshop 7.0, which was Adobe’s one and only experiment with automated alpha channel creation for TGA. The experiment was a dismal failure, riddled with problems. Adobe quickly realized they had made a monumental mistake with 7.0, and they patched it with version 7.0.1, which got rid of the automation and the problems that went with it. However, some people unfortunately are still under the impression that the automation is a time-saver, and they use that plug-in from 7.0 to alter the way other versions of Photoshop operate. In truth, people who use it are actually making things much harder on themselves without even realizing it. Let me explain.
In short, alpha automation is bad news. Don’t use it. I’ve heard Photoshop 7.0 is bugged, and that it handles transparency differently than all other versions of Photoshop. Is this true? Yes, it’s true. Anyone using 7.0 should download the free 7.0.1 update from Adobe before proceeding any further. See the previous question for the biggest reason why. Those four pretty much cover what you're asking about, but I'd highly recommend you read the entire guide. There's lots of useful info in it. If there's anything you don't understand, or if you're still having trouble, let me know. ![]() _____________________

Hi Star.
It is, in fact, the alpha. If you've been using PS 7.0, it made an embedded alpha channel that was prone to massive incompatibility with most other programs. So Adobe abandoned it within weeks, and went back to its previous behavior. (A separate, and therefore editable, alpha channel.) There is a huge amount of information about that behavior on these forums. I've written some actions, so that any version of Photoshop can make an Alpha for you. You can get them here. (Clicking that link will start the download, so be aware of that.) Instructions are included in the folder. Be aware that using an Alpha channel on a file that gets its transparency from layer transparency will result in a white "halo," since the file is flattened onto a white ground. It's easy enough to eliminate. All you have to do is download the free Solidify plug-ins from Flaming Pear. If you don't have the plug-ins, but want them, you can get them in the "Free Plugins" package on the Download page of Flaming Pear. Once you have them, you can use the Action I've posted here to make an alpha without the halo in a single click. The second pack is exactly like the other one, with the addition of two actions that use those third-party plug-ins. (You don't need both; if you have the plug-ins, just download the last one.) Hope this helps! _____________________
