Making latex outfits

I can see this question has been asked several times before but I've not yet seen answer that points to a method of recreating good looking latex outfits.

From what I've read, using color dodge and burn on an overlay layer same as you would for creating wrinkles is the only method I seem to read about although the contrast between the highlights/shadows will be much greater I think however I find it difficult creating highlights that follow the body contours realistically.

Is it possible to get a copy of the avatar that I could import into Lightwave, position lights and render the model with lights positioned and specularity set so that I could bake the textures with lighting included within Lightwave then import into Photoshop for the rest of the work?

I saw this tutorial which shows work being done on a template image with lighting info already in but I need to know how to get to that stage:

Pixeldolls did have a tutorial on setting up a Lightwave baking session for SL clothing with the downloadable avatar model, but it seems the link has been removed.

Thanks for that, hopefully can figure out the Lightwave baking part now that I have a model to work with.
