Shoes are definitely the worst implemented clothing part from both a shape and texture viewpoint. I'm SURE someone, somewhere has a decent pair of shoes in SL, but as far as I'm concerned they all look pretty crappy. With the possible exception of a pair of prim based ones I have, which actually look quite cool  _____________________

the most useful thing ive found so far- map the template on the foot and check out where the lines fall. this will also help you predict where those wierd stretching areas are.

If you avoid ankles, and have solid area on the heels you can make pretty good shoes.

YES! Oh god. I made one pair of shoes and it took longer than it usually takes me to put together two outfits. Now I remember why I've always worn just straight black shoes
