Hey all okay so I want to make cloths, but I’m new to it all I’ve downloaded everything they say I need but I’m not sure how to mess with the alpha and texture. I was wondering if anyone out there can give me a step by step tutorial showing me in and out of game, I’ve made cloths for the game The Sims 2 and I’m great with Photoshop just have no ideal how to transfer my ideals into SL. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks a bunch. -Love MS

Hi there Midnite

With the SL templates you have downloaded there is a guide that tells you how to use them. Follow those instructions and you will be well on your way.

To find more on alpha channels, search the forums (use advanced search) for "Chosen Few" and "Alpha" and you will find lots and lots of useful information.

As for textures - a bit of trial and error will help you understand. Create a simple texture (for expample a white grid on a black background) and upload it to sl. Create a shirt, pants, etc. etc. using this texture and see how and in what areas the lines get distorted/stretched/whatever.

Once you've seen the results for yourself you should understand the grids on Chip Midnight's templates better and your next design will go a bit easier, with less trial and less error.

Play around with it a bit and then ask specific questions, also search the forums - many helpful things have been posted already.

Good luck with the clothes making!
