I couldn't find the answer to this on the forums.
Can someone point me to how one-way windows are created?
Thank you.. Knek

On one side, set the texture to blank, 0% transparency. This is the outside. No one can see in. On the other side, the inside, set the texture to blank, 50% (or some number under 100%) transparency. You can see out. Voila. One-way windows.

Aaron stated the concept well, but let me clarify by offering a step-by step.
1. Right click on the prim that is to be your window and select Edit.
2. On the editor, you'll see a list of radio buttons toward the upper left. Click the one the one that says "Select Texture".
3. Click on whichever face of the prim you want to be able to see through. You'll now be affecting that face and only that face.
3. On the editor, click "More" and go to the Textures tab. Either apply a transparent texture, or simply turn up the transparency setting on the existing texture. Click on the other faces and apply non-transparent textures. When you're satisfied, close the editor.
That's all there is to it. You've now got a prim that you can see through from only one direction.
Note, by the way, that the Select Texture thing works for far more than just one-way windows. If you want a prim that's red on the top and blue on the bottom, or wood on the front and stone on the back, or shiny on one side and flat on the other, this is how you'd do it.

Thank you both. I'll give it a shot later today.
Have a wonderful day.
