I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this, so if it would be better off in one of the other forums do please let me know
what I am looking for is a goodly resolution (one I can play with in PS without losing to much detail) of the SL grid map for a project I'm doing for the sl 6th birthday thing. I've been able to get individual sim textures easily enough.... but not the entire grid

Easiest might be to zoom out a little on slurl.com and stitch together some screen grabs.

that was my thought, I was just kinda praying there might be an easier way, doing a couple of hundred screen grabs don't really grab me ... grins
not to mention the messing around sticking them all together again at the end

Sticking them together should be simple. Just use Photoshop's panorama function, called Photomerge. It works really, really well. (File -> Automate -> Photomerge)
Grabbing all the screenshots will of course be really tedious, but at least you can automate the assembly.
