Cool. No more having to write down settings. It's probably worthwhile to make local backups of your av parameters, whether you plan on exporting to another grid or not.

I'm a little disturbed that it captures texture keys, and makes them easy to access, though. It would still take some work to pirate clothing & skins, so it's not a huge threat, but still, I'd like to see that feature removed. It doesn't do a thing for inter-grid teleporting anyway, so there's little point in having it.

So, just an XML file, right?

Curious if there's any way to convert that to settings to apply to the mesh in a 3d modeler, to be able to work on avs and attachments for specific settings.

Good question, Keira. From the description, it's just spitting out a list of slider settings. Unless your 3D modeling program has all the morph data for every slider, the numbers are pretty much meaningless. Plugins for various programs could certainly be made, of course, and I'm sure it's only a matter of time until someone does it. But until then, it doesn't do your modeling program any good to have a list that says you've got "foot size 27", "head size 32", "leg length 84", etc.

I figured something as much... hopefully someone makes plugins... I would, but I don't know how to program in anything but LSL =P

Either way, cool tool, and in the future could easily be used for more than just OpenSim.

As for the texture keys, really, it's already easy enough to steal textures and whatnot, so I wouldn't personally worry about it. If someone wants the textures, it's not that hard to steal them, unfortunately.

And it can be used to save different sets of appearance

I did that for my avatar, now it is easy to change between my normal look and "Carrie-Anne Moss" and whatnot + send the files around. Having the texture IDs in the file helps a lot too.
What I am trying to say is that the tool is useful also within SL, not just when going to Opensim.
