I thought there was a message about this but can't find it, so I apologize if this has already been answered. I am creating a shirt that has text on it, small text, and when I cam in close it is blurry. I have tried starting with large text and then shrinking it down to the size I want, played with the anti aliasing, smooth seems to give the best results. Maybe it's the font I'm using, but it seems to happen with other fonts. I need a fairly blocky font. Anyone have any tips or tricks to get clear text on a garment?

This question comes up in different forms fairly often. The recent thread you're probably thinking of is . It sounds as if you have already tried many of the standard solutions, though. The problem really comes at you from two directions: 1. There are dreadfully few pixels to work with on much of the avatar body, so it's tough to get any design with a lot of detail to look sharp. It's even worse on some avatars, because parts of the anatomy can be stretched enough to make any design you put there blurry. Unfortunately, that's especially true in some places where you'd expect to put lettering -- like across the chest. It's frustrating to design for big-chested women. 2. The body moves. Anything near a hinge point -- like across the shoulder blades -- gets smeared. The obvious way around those problems is to avoid putting text in trouble spots, or to at least keep it simple. Few words, basic fonts. Aside from that, anti-aliasing, working at high resolution and downsizing to 512 x 512 before you upload, and making sure that there's a strong contrast difference between your text and the background are your best bets. It also helps to keep your most effective curses handy.
