Tattoo 1.85 for editing objects?

Some time ago, I downloaded Tattoo 1.85, I remember seeing it in SL post about editing objects or somethin' or other.. and I installed it today, was able to edit an Avatar model and draw on the model, but what is this software used for? Haven't spent enough time with it to figure it out, doing other work on the computer and wondering if I someone can let me know, rather than playing when I should be working... I usually figure everything out myself, one reason I tend to share my secrets rather than horde them.. treating people the way I would like to be treated... could someone share with me?

Thanks in advance....

Tattoo is used for 3d paint. It can be used to paint directly on the avatar models (available in the downloads section of the SL website) rather than just on the templates in a regular paint program, making it easier to get details where you want them on the body. Unfortunately Tattoo is a bit primitive for doing high quality paint work but it's still useful for previewing clothing and skin textures before uploading to SL and for touching up texture seams. Hope that helps :)

thanks Chip....

I've been a graphics person for a long time and have made some clothes and textures for SL.. I appreciate your help, I'll have to work with it some more and see what I can come up with .. I do like being able to paint right on the Avie.. I'll have to use my paint proggy along with this to iron out details for more precise details on clothes and what have 'ya... I'm wondering though.. I didn't see where I would export textures from Tattoo.. they saved as .PNG files? Where as I would import them into Picture Publisher (from Micrografx.. what I use instead of PShop) ?

Thanks Again....

I haven't used Tattoo myself since I have another 3d paint program. If all you can save out of it is png then you'd just want to open it in your other paint program and resave as tga.
