I just subscribed to Live365 Internet Radio, and tend to keep it running in the background when I'm online.
Is there any way I can re-direct the feed from that to my in-game audio options?
I know how to paste a specific URL, but not sure how to go about linking the Radio365 player.
Thanks.

Not really but I hear there is a convoluted way to make it work using a website host or something. Sorry.

Yes you can, but you have to grab the ACTUAL Live 365 URL each time you want to stream it on your land. Here's how...
(1) Log into Live 365 and go to your preferences page. Make sure you have WinAMP installed already. On the preferences (or is it Setup?) page, change your player to be "external player" instead of "Live 365 player". This will force it to fire up WinAMP instead of their own player when you click play on a stream.
(2) Click play on your stream. WinAMP should load and start playing your stream if you've configured it right.
(4) Right click the scrolling marquee in the WinAMP window, and go to PROPERTIES (or it might be Stream Properties - doing this off the top of my head). This will pop open a window with the actual stream URL included. Copy and paste this URL into the media URL section of the About Land dialog in Second Life.
That's it!

Is grabbing a Live365 url and playing it in Second Life legally ok, and ok with the Live365 folks?

From: SuezanneC Baskerville Is grabbing a Live365 url and playing it in Second Life legally ok, and ok with the Live365 folks? Not really. What's happening is you're allowing multiple IP addresses to listen through one Live365 login which violates their agreement with the RIAA. Not that I'd worry about it that much but it will cause Live365 to invalidate the stream if you have several people entering and leaving your parcel. What I do when I want to stream my Live365 station into SL is to relay it through Shoutcast. That way only one IP is connected through Live365 and everyone else is connected to your Shoutcast server. The artists are still being paid royalties and it's not any different than if you had a bunch of people at your RL house while you have the radio on.

I'm getting the impression that the forums are being used to spread information about how to do something illegal using Second Life.

From: Talen Morgan It's not illegal....and who exactly appointed you the resident hall monitor and legal advisor. It's not illegal for me to post a comment in the forums. Who appointed you the resident hall monitor and legal advisor. I appointed myself to choose what I post here, within the constraints I have agreed to. ----- oh, by the way, i tried what flip said, and it seemed to work so far as i could tell, although i couldn't test it in sl since i don't own any land. I suspect those urls don't last too long, at least it wouldn't make sense for them to. Googling on the subject of how to do it produced a number of methods that required more brainpower than Flip's method. Googling on the legality of it produced a really nasty cease and desist letter, but of course it wasn't directed specifically at the question of use of Live365 urls on land parcels in Sl.
