I was wondering if you have group owned land, is it possible to change the name of the group without the land being sold or however that works??

Are you wanting to simply change the name of the existing land group or transfer the group-owned land to another group alltogether?

I am pretty sure you have to create another group and transfer ownership.

Once you create a group, you can't change the name. The only way is to disband your old group and create a new one.

If there's land involved, obviously that gets ugly.

yes there is land involved :(. It is only 3 of us. We want to keep everything the same, just change the name of the group. But it sounds like it would involve something happening with the land if we do this??

Perhaps not, have you tried IM'ing a Linden inworld? They helped me when I accidentally made myself a member of a group that I founded and was the only officer for. Perhaps they can help you with changing the name of your group?

If your land is owned by the old group, you and your friends/alts/whatever can pull out your land credit contirbution and nothing bad will happen immediately, as there is a grace period. Set the land to sell for $0 to yourself, then buy the land for your new group after you put your contribution in.
