Actually I question whether these updates they do on a weekly basis are ever even tested. Supposedly they are but then why is it that EVERY single week there are major bugs introduced to the environment when they release? I was a project manager on a software development team and if we had put out shoddy software releases like this we'd have all been fired...

i agree its past 2weeks downtime has been incredible and it's a bit of a gag when you have preveiws grid open and the bugs are reported there and not being fixed before they release it to the main grid. And then downtime is invetigated and what happens grid shut down and it's opened again but still wanked.

PREVIEW GRID MOAR. </4chan> Seriously, preview grid BEFORE the night of the upgrade. Seriously, give the Lindens time to fix things. You can't just say "OMG I REPORTED A BUG RIGHT BEFORE IT WENT ON THE MG WHY WASN'T IT FIXED??!!!"

Okay, I'm very tolerant of botched updates, but this is downright damn retarded. Communication is broken as hell, complete parts of the game are now barely functioning. How can you even call this a stable release? This should be considered a HUGE financial loss to the company. This is Daikatana broken.

My point was, if yu want bugs fixed, go out and find them and report them with ample time. My IMs and Online Notifications hae been fine since they reopened the grid.

I haven't noticed any issues with either my IM's or Emails, but I noticed that under the announcements, when it was said the login was reopened, that there would still be some issues with the IM and email system. I'd suggest bug reporting it, so they have a clearer picture of how far flung it is still.
And yes, I do think they have been rushing things and badly. And yes, I log into the preview grid. I'm simply not imaginative enough to try to break the game. Which is odd, given that every other program that is more stable, automatically dies in about a week or two after install....

Question is...Was this software based on the same format at sl? You know where it has a "internet" and a client side viewer. Or was it all based on the users pc? Because from what I can tell they test these updates, but until they are released on the main grid not all bugs are going to show. This is partially because the preview grid isnt connected to as many sims as the main grid and doesnt have the load as the main grid.

In-game I don't see any of my friends online although they are standing right in front of me and since none of my friends show online, the map to see them is not accurate. I have also crashed twice and once my inventory refused to close. Are you sure that your online friends are showing in-game? Mine are all not bolded. [be easy on me, first post here, k?] Argus

I am still, on occasion receiving messages that are obviously intended as a reply to someone other than me.

From: Argus Collingwood yeppers, but the mousewheel still doesn't scroll in chat at this moment. I'm getting bizarre action from the camera, scrolling way out and spinning around. Well, used to be when I sat on something I would go floating away, far far away, spinning in circles. At least that hasn't happened for a while.
