hi all,

i want to be able to live stream from my pc to my SL land and DJ too.
i can stream audio from webcamXP, but i have no idea how to integrate this with SL as its a java script. not that i know what java is! i just generate, copy, and paste, lol.

will i have to have a specific software to stream directly into SL?

please help if you can,

wanabe DJ wants to get club open!

thanks in advance for any help you give.

You'll need a Shoutcast server or equivalent, which may require a subscription fee. Then all you have to do is paste the URL into your land media settings.

Google on "shoutcast servers" and it should give you a nice start. Others here might provide more detailed info, but I want to bump this because it's a good question and might invoke some constructive discussion.

Sorry, no clue, but I think Cindy's right. I'm curious how it's done myself, so I'll bump and hope someone answers your question;)

I have no problem doing a copy n' paste to SL from the clipboard. This however, only works if you own or if you are an authorized member of a group that owns the land.

sorry guys,

i just read my last post and i missed the important bit. where or how do you find out the url to be coppied and pasted into the SL media page?

god , im such a noob at this.

also any ideas why the stream wont restart when stopped. ive reinstalled it every time i wanted to try streaming to my land so far. just a we bit annoying!
the shoutcast source just keeps trying to re-connect and failing. ive even tried it with the firewall down???.

as for the copy and paste, i hope i'm not being stupid with this too, its just the old highlight text and right click to copy, yea?

i'm starting to think that i just got a pc for the first time and its only half out the box!!!

right click don't work. use ALT-C for copy, ALT-V for paste...
