I look again and again in the Announcements and news forum, but there's no sign of any (planned) update! What's going on? |

I knew there was a "mandatory update" which I assumed was a client update; I didn't see any indication the grid would be coming down for it.

I am not impressed at the lack of announcement that for the 4th or is it 5th time in a month we are going down for 5 hours. Not impressed with the testing.
Where was the announcement? Why weren't we informed? Good thing is it went down at midnight my time, so I am off to bed.... Good night and see you all when I wake up in the morning!! |

- Havok 2 - Mono - Firefox HTML-on-a-Prim - Mules - Sensible anti-pvp restrictions on code. |

They announced it in Robin Linden's 'blog', and apoparently consider that sufficient notice. Read the post named "Update: Open Registration" in the Announcements & News forum, and follow the link in that to stuff in Robin's blog.

Typically poor communications. *sigh* Abnormally poor, there's no release notes yet. People knew it was coming, it just wasn't announced in the normal public channels. Now, this could be due to the forums being FUBAR'd, but it's still pretty lame. Hi All -- We are planning the release of version 1.10.5 on Wednesday June 28, 2006 pending final verification of all issues. Second Life will be unavailable from 7am to 12pm PT/SLT for the update. New client software will be required to access 1.10.5. We encourage you to visit the 1.10.5 Preview grid to check out the new functionality for yourself! Second Life viewers can be downloaded from the Preview page of our website, http://secondlife.com/community/preview.php. Release notes will be available on Tuesday, pending final verification of all issues.
