I don't know about you but there are numerous problems developing tonight with Second Life

1. People have been crashing all day long

2. several people are having a hard time coming back into SL after crashing out

3. Massive Lag has followed the crash

lets not hide our heads in the sand. This is something that needs assistance.

May I suggest delaying 1.9.1 till October 11 2007 and instead repair all the glitches problems etc that exist with SL???

I'm thinking that the probs today are cause they are doing stuff behind the scenes to prep for 1.9.1. Seems like I always have lag and crash probs right before an update.

o.O

Without releasing any new software? That'll be a neat trick.

In any case, what you're describing sounds like server issues. Having the software developers sit on their hands rather than write new software won't help them get solved any more quickly...

hrm how does that differ from any other day?

1 i crash all the time since 1.9 while fipping from fullscreen to windowed mode

2 whenever i crash (for whatever reason) i have to login a cupple times and sometimes more before i get inworld

3 yep and when i get in the broken cache makes me redownload all 999,999 2048x2048 textures in my megar view

I haven't noticed anything extraordinary, and I've been on and off a few times.

Unfortunately it hasn't been great for a lot of people past few days. As far as a server issue...I had a similar issue such as what has occurred to me and a few others happen to me on my sim..and what one linden found out was that it was the machine that particular sim was running on causing the issues. However, if that IS what is happening...then there are several "machines" gone haywire across SL at the same time for several people 20+ on a friends list not in the same location all dropped at the exact same time. I just hope that this will be investegated and the issue solved.

Today's been far worse than any time I can remember. I have hardly even had persistent crash problems -- yet today I have crashed 4 different times. Chat dies, animations are still going but I can't move and nothing refreshes. Quit the client, and for about 3-4 minutes I not only can't get back in but I can't access secondlife.com either.

Once I'm back in, I'm fine for another 40 minutes to an hour before it happens all over.

The client hasn't been that stable since 1.9, I agree, but for me it's been mostly lag and rez problems. Today was an entirely new animal.

What's been so odd about today?
Hit a couple of pockets of lag...that's about it.

I've had many more problems yesterday/today. I have crashed and had to relog about 8 times. That's not normal for me.

I seldom crash, maybe once a week and lately its been no different... I feel its not so much LL problems as ISP problems that are never admitted to.

I'm curious why October 11 2007? Is there some alignment of planets on that day? Or is that when the god of software development comes into ascendancy?

Magnum, may I suggest you get a CLUE? If you start studying now by October 11 2007 you will understand that SL cannot be reliable and there is nothing LL can do about it.
The internet lags. Computers fail. Unless you want every sim to be restricted to 100 prims and 20 scripts, there will always be the possibility that someone crammed too much shit in the same place for your PC to handle.
SL is freeform. It gives you so much freedom, in fact, that you're free to fuck up your own experience and that of others, or even bring the whole damn grid down :P

I've been fine in SL.

Though, I'm sure its a massive conspiracy convened by the Star Chamber Elite using their alpha particle generators beamed at key internet peering points, pulsing the binary code of their dark manifesto.

Or perhaps its nothing at all, your pick :)
