I would support any method to prevent people being logged in when away from the keyboard, as some clearly are continuously 24hrs per day.

Even disregarding the waste of bandwidth, the result of this can be the most subtle but devastating griefing of all. Rendering another person's land virtually unusable.

I own land in the same sim as a "popular" brothel venue.

The number of avi's present reaches about 36 every day, averages about 25, but almost never falls below 20. Except after a crash or update, when it can take a long while for numbers to recover.

I checked it out, and, except at peak times, almost everyone seems to be dancing on pads which pay you for being there. Obviously AFK.

I wade in treacle on my own land, with time dilation below 0.7 most of the time, and often coming down to 0.3 and even 0.15. Scripts stutter and fail and I have to make things elsewhere.

The club "attendees" must be having things as bad - so what is the point ? It's just the old "money chair" in a different guise, and taken to a ridiculous extreme.

How can it be prevented when the simplest "mouse jiggler" will keep you logged in ?

The only way I can see would be an automated requester to everyone once an hour. Maybe a picture of a scrawly word you have to type back correctly to stay logged in.

I wonder how many other people are having their land investment destroyed like this. Am I the only one ?

Surely these club owners can't make any useful L$ gain out of this? Even though they care not about the big US$ loss they force on adjoining landowners who need to sell their unusable land get out. Is it pure ego ?

Or do they effectively devalue someone elses land, by US$100, or even $200, in order to gain absolutely puny amounts themselves ?

I thought of investing some cash to try to recover my land values. Set up 20 money chairs at twice their rate. This would hopefully make it impossible for people to move to their chairs, or at least demonstrate that their clientele is fake by tempting it away with no environment at all. What would they care - they're not there anyway !

I do realize that its hopeless, nothing will ever be done.

But I would really like a bit of feedback, as follows :

1. Can a clubowner actually make money out of this ? Does traffic still give a decent payment ? Or am I suffering for nothing?

2. Any suggestions what, within the TOS and decent moral limits, I can do to alter the situation.

Please don't suggest I ask the owner to be more considerate. I have had no discusions on this with the owner, and do not want any. Had a brief accidental chat on another topic, and my knowledge of human nature tells me it would only make things worse..

The wonderful thing about Tiggers
(and Tiggers are wonderful things)
Their heads are made out of rubber
Their tails are made out of springs
And they're bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy
Fun fun fun fun fun, but...
The most wonderful thing about Tiggers...

...

Is I'm the only one!

Move to the private sims.

Any of us that rent are actively interested in keeping your business, and either the sim owner or the estate managers would 'lay the smack down', as they say, on anyone who did so much harm to the experience of a paying customer such as yourself.

On a higher level, say something constructive to the company. I think that in the long run, it's not in their interest to have the mainland (read: the Private Estate managed by the Company) run so poorly.
