How do I vote for a place that doesn't have a vote box?

I was wondering how I can vote for a place that doesn't have a vote box.

Voting was before my time. I defer this question to someone who knows how voting used to work.

PS: What I do know is that voting used to be a metric for determining popularity of a spot, instead of dwell (aka traffic).

I could be wrong but I thought I'd heard the vote boxes are not recorded anymore, useless.

Ah--I guess the places that still have the vote boxes don't know that yet--they continue to try to get everyone to vote...

The place I got banned for not liking rap (and not giving enough money) was one of them....

I think the voting boxes serve two real purposes now.

A) To demonstrate, "Hey, I've been around a while."

B) To generate amusement as visitor #19842 points out that they no longer work, when we all know that.

Oh... Okay, they still do give you totals at rollover on how many votes they received so you can use 'em as a non-obtrusive (ie: no sensor scan) visitor volume tracker. If they bothered to click on it, they probably liked your place.

There are the lindens vote box which is no longer used, but I believe that there is also a vote box for slpaces.com (Hope I got that right) to show rankings on their website. Someone please correct me if I am wrong on this.
