Well about a month ago I placed a billboard on a land, one I was working on. I randomly ran into this land and I was still new to the game. Well after fixing the billboard I retrieved it and forgot to grab the other one. So I left a 10x10 sign on a person's land. I knew the purpose of sandboxes, but didnt fully understand the deal with private land with creatable tabbed. So I made an honest mistake. Well the next day I was hit with some very personal threats, more so about SL. A protest was staged at the club I co-own, claming be to be a racist toward certain SL Role Players. This was not at all the case and the land owner was sending minions with constrewed information to attack me and my land. After talking with this person, who didnt want to hear anything, including many apologies.. I found the MOB he sent were easy to deal with, by just explaining the situation and what had transpired. So things cooled off. I banned the main guy and continued on with my SL life. Well a few days later I get IMs about "Ill be waiting for you to get popular to strike" and more misc. BS. AGAIN, biting back frustration, I apologize and plead for this to just end.
Now almost a month later, I had 3 people come in and drop random objects, huge 50-300prim objects and lag machines. A girl working for me was decorating and they told her it wasnt about her- It was to get back at Bizzy Weeks.
Well I reported the whole ordeal, with the saved Ims, screens, and such.. But of course nothing will get done. He will send more and more blind goons bent on bothering someone else.
Now after asking around, this person is apparently a 'pillar in the community', a friendly and extremely giving person who has helped hundreds of specific players. Yet he isn't willing to drop a month old beef.
So I ask you forum goers, what would do you? -Nothing, let it slide again, see if 3 attacks will be enough to feed his anger? -Confront him about it publically? -Fight back, sending dozens upon dozens of people I know to throw down scripts, objects, ect? Or what?
Im at wits end here, its extremely childish and the drama is not needed.
Thank you for reading.

You'd hate to end up banned yourself because of someone else's beef. And public confrontation would probably just get ugly and escalate the tension. If it was me, with the way SL works, I'd still take the first option, and hope that by not fighting back they would a) get bored, b) see I had no beef. I would try one more attempt at talking calmly - but not in IM, try putting it all on a notecard, so they read everything you have to say, without interrupting you before you said it. Then AR away and hope for the best. Basically, what you've been doing. Not exactly ideal, I know. Now if was RL, I'd give you entirely different advice.

Gee, I would ask why he didnt just return the object from his land and call it a day? Thats what I would have done, but then I am (for the most part) a rational, level-headed person.

Oh yes, also, if the attacks continue, you could always turn off outside scripting and building on your land. Now, this will be bad for some of your guests, but just make sure they understand, put a nice sign up that says "Due to recent attacks, I have had to remove outside scripting and building privledges from this parcel. Unfortunatly, some people feel that they have to take the fun out of SL for everyone else. Sorry for the inconvienience." Or something along those lines.

The thing is I operate a mall next to my club, so if I turn off building, id have to be on everytime someone opened a shop. So far they haven't attacked the mall.
It seems I should jute ignore it again, im not sure about scripts, but is there a legal way to give friends the ability to kick people off my land, without adding them to my Owner group?
Also my billboard was just a simple picture of my club top view. The notecard giving one, was the final one I picked up. It had a single prim frame, 1 prim stand, and the inside picture prim. 3 total. The one I had left was JUST the picture prim.
Also I should probably mention he said something about it had blocked his runway.. I dunno what that meant, but maybe its more upsetting then just a random prim laying around.

You still haven't told us what was On the Picture Prim. Could it have been an image that the person construed as a personal attack? You sound very forthright, and reasonable, But the details would be helpful in determining Just what exactly set this person off. "Pillar(s) of the Community" do not just go off the deep end over misplaced prims so there must be just a Little more to it.
As for what you should do, I agree with previous advice, Send a Notecard, state your position, Apologize, and if the grief contiinues You, and ANY witnesses present at the time should AR any more incidents. The more ARs coming in simultaniously over the same event, the more likely it will be acted upon quickly, and Once you send in the ARs contact a Linden directly, Tell him/her you ARed, and why, and request some Immediate help If the situation warrents.
Angel.

I just wanted to add - Bizzy - you and your partner have done an excellent job on the new mall and I am glad to have my work represented there. I suggest any high end designers who want to be in a beautiful upscale mall - to go check Bizzy's mall and grab a spot before they are all taken. As to your problems - well, it seems that every good resident now is experiencing problems with others as a direct mis-management by the lindens. Try to talk with this guy again, and again and again until you both come to a happy resolution. If I see anything happening at the mall when I go there to update or check on my vendor - I'll send them home for you with my personal security I wear.

You could just ban them all from you're land..if you own land or you partner does.. if more of them come just keep banning them! I don't really know what LL can do about it though, unless there leaving gross pictures and it's PG Land then maybe..*shrugs*

I still am curious as to what was on that sign, but Oh well, if he said it was an accident, it isn't that huge of a deal... anywho, its a shame that something like this couldn't be avoided or talked over in some sort of truce, but some folks just think that there is no way they can possibly be in the wrong on things. Plus, with a thing like Second Life, can't people just vote by their feet on different clubs and builds and whatnot?

I've found through my own experience that the worst thing you can do in confronting a griefer (and this sounds like griefing to me), is to engage in dialog. You've apologized, you've removed the prims, there's nothing more you can do except to ignore him and keep filing ARs. Yes, and ban him and his friends. Some day he'll run out of friends -- hopefully before you hit the 50-row ban limit. [EDIT: I meant "worst thing is to engage", not "worst thing is to refuse to engage".]

Sounds like there's not really much you can do. If this person isn't being rational and isn't willing to bury the hatchet then you're probably not going to change their mind. Just ban and abuse report anyone who comes to your place to hassle you about it and keep doing it. Eventually they'll get suspended, bored, or be too busy making war with someone else. Does this person by chance run a competing business or something?

Sorry about that, thought it was self-explanatory, didnt think about it. The picture was of my club, one side only. EMPTY box, just the picture. Thank you all for your support, I had another run in last night. Its getting out of control now. Apparently some vampire roleplayers are involved. One of which spent 20 minutes sending me IMs about how he has nothing left to live for besides getting revenge. Deeper going into how he avoided a satanic sacrifice, parents killed in front of him, and a long winded speech about the fall of mankind. Obviously I banned and muted him. But the point is this is getting OUTRAGEOUS. One of the told me I said "I hate your F---ing kind, your a sick f---, I hope all you people die.". Anyone who knows me knows I would NEVER makes these comments about furries or vampires, or ANYONE for that matter. Now this new wave threatened me with something called 'Second Death', perma character death or something. I figured it was BS. Also rambling on about us being neighbors soon. Cya soon 'neighbor', *sigh*. I know this all branched from this single incident and I just don't understand why a newer player like myself would get t-boned so viciously by 03-05 accounts. My ban list is at 11 now, but with endless flows of alts... I wont make it. Seems ive got a lot of haters on me. Anyway they don't seem interested in messing with the mall, which is good, only personally griefing me. I could, if all else fails, disassociate and bury the char.. Or offer myself on a stake, to appease their misplaced angers. Whatev And Ctarr, thanks honey. Your always great to work with, great products (So what about that dragon tat discount? and a model vendor. I guess this is a good time to plug the mall huh.. lol. GoodFellas At Chubby Slimz And The MarketPlace Mall, in Baekje. Come on down and watch the mean people bully me!
