anybody know of a plan to offer something similar to 'include im in chat history' - but for the inworld roomchat?? when groups expand up past 15, the amount of im spam in chat is gonna be insufferable... (not that it isn't already  #2 request: separate color pref for im text...

If you mean being able to make the IMs not show in the proximity based channel 0 chat - the chat display that scrolls up from the bottom of the screen - that would be wonderful!
That has been asked for many times going back a long way. I'm not aware of any plans on the Linden's part to provide this.
I could handle have three chat areas, one for proximity chat, one for group chat, and one for person to person IMs. With each being able to be turned off or merged as suits one's mood.
1.12 preview does say that group chat will be mutable. Haven't tried it out yet.

Angel. the spam is not always the fault of the group management. it's like having your mailman deliver every letter to you when it arrives, lol - even when you simply don't want to be disturbed with it within your immediate surroundings. agreed! maybe it's the ADD to blame, but i can't handle when there's chat from more than one or two people on my screen and it's all the same color. i can't seperate the voices quickly enough in my head. having something like font color options for individuals in local chat, or just random automatic coloring for different voices would make sl a wonderful place for me to chat  and group im's, please yes, i know i can just pull up my chat history to view a clean local chat, but that becomes a pain, and is just one more thing to have up on my screen. as dependant on text communication as sl is, it badly needs some ease-of-reading enhancements for people like me! |
