Just saw this in the police blotter:
Date: Wednesday, April 12, 2006 Violation: Community Standards, Disturbing the Peace, Land Use Region: Nuttall Description: Huge grief wall. Action taken: Suspended 3 days.
LL did a suspension related to griefing?! Does anyone have any idea what constitutes a suspendable offense? We know that IBG's stuff certainly didn't.

If I surrounded your land with a wall on all 4 sides, or otherwise restriced you access to your land - that is against the TOS.
The IBG was very careful in how they went about their business - to the point where some folks who actively tried to go against them instead broke the TOS with similar tactics.

Wait, let me see if I got this right? I own property all around person A property, I dont like person A, so instead of doing a ban from my property (which puts up a 40 meter "wall" I put up a 10 meter fence, and that is griefing?? Becky

well if so it should have been labled "offensive imagery"
and again with P2P its not really blocking access to anything is it
and to touch on the "buy the view" sentiment the one and only time its happened to me i used it as an excuse to put up a mural... i rather liked my little hut in the deep dark rainforest
and yes becky the 40m redline wall that invades your house is quite ok, but not the same thing as a fence (apperently)

What I'd like to know is.. Did the Lindens take down the wall or is it still there? Because if they suspended the account, the person that had it couldn't take it down....

So if I build a 300m high wall around your land, you won't mind becuase you can just P2P into it?

From: Yiffy Yaffle Like the impeach bush signs? I wish.. while my opinion of Bush isn't that high, Second Life would be the last place I'd campain to remove him. Now if he was to try banning MMORPG's, then SL would be the FIRST place

i've had 2 cases recently where lindens have taken down walls around my property. The first wall was 60m high the 2nd was somewhere between 100-200+m high... not sure it was huge.

Becky Griefing is when the wall is put up solely to block access to your neighbor or to harass. I had land next to which another member erected a HUGE FUGLY wall designed only to block access to my store. This was done because the griefer who created the wall happened to be a competitor to someone sellign inside my store. The wall was huge, ugly. solid black on the side facing me and nice on the griefers side. This was immature griefing pure and simple, and the Linden who asked the griefer to remove the wall was totally correct with that assessment.
