At first glance it looks really nice and my first take is that it is easier to read. This makes me think it's a good thing and I might use it. I know I am definatley going to take a much longer look at it now. Thanks for posting here.

I'll start out with what seems like a mistake to me:
On the page for "Interface, and Controls Tips for moving around and interacting with the world " it has sub-headings of: "Animation Guide " and "SHORTCUT KEYS". The animation guide has information about how how to create animations, which doesn't really fit in "Interface and Controls". Is the knowlege base user editable or Linden-only editable? As for my name I think it's pretty cool. In fact I think it's so neat it just blows me away. The Rotary Club link says this: "Members of a Rotary club ...promote peace and understanding throughout the world." and "Rotary is a worldwide organization ... that provides humanitarian service,... and helps build goodwill and peace in the world." That sounds ok to me. |

More errors:
The following are blogs relating to Second Life, both official and unofficial.(Please note that all Second Life blogs and fansites should conform to the Second Life Fansites Requirements.Linden Lab BlogsPhilip Linden's Blog — RSS FeedPrompt Criticality — RSS FeedBe The Change — RSS FeedLinden Ops — RSS FeedMagellan Linden Chronicles — RSS FeedResident Blogs (in alphabetical order)Atomic-Raygun — RSS FeedBrace Blog — RSS FeedBravo Bravo Note how things are run together without spaces between words. Looks like the words "RSS feed" should be links to RSS feeds and the conversion program they ran the old tiki wiki through didn't work quite right. The old Support Wiki was itself a chaotic hodgepodge of material in existence at the time of it's creation. Now it's been put through the blender again, I'm afraid. I'll toss in a comment about the layout: Having the menu on the left that occupies a good percentage of the horizontal space on the page for ten lines or so and leaves the rest of that column blank is both a waste of space and looks bad to me. This style seems to be popular these days. Having that side menu at the top left instead be spread across the page and use the entire width of the page for the body of the text would look better to me, and allow for a larger font for the text body. There is bizarre font sizing, with sizing like this for no apparent reason. |

Thanks for the post and the link. Missed that announcement.
I just did a quick look through, but like the new system better. Things might need shuffled for organisation, but the Wiki was a mess imo. Unless the Wiki takes up too much bandwidth, though, I'd say LL should leave it up for a time. Track how many hit that site and see if it should go or if it should blow. ~Jessy _____________________

The section dealing with client preference settings is highly misleading as it describes the pre-1.10 non-OC Graphics preferences.
This can only cause confusion for new users seeking information in one of the more complex areas of setting their client up for best performance. One can't help but wonder what the point of this 'new' feature is? To confuse new users? Window dressing? Makework for the incompetent? Incidentaly, that was the first area I looked in, because I was hoping for some clarification myself, not being an old hand. After finding so much incorrect and/or outdated information, I don't see much point in looking further as, if the editing/proof reading has been that poor, what are the chances of any of the contents being useful, other than as an awful example of how not to do it? _____________________

Oh no. They're using Lore. They have that at my job. It's really nice, but you have to beat the search engine into submission sometimes.

I wonder if the old tiki wiki might be turned over to a third party. Sort of the reverse of what happened with the LSL wiki.
The knowledge base appears to have a lot of overly verbose, rambling discourse. A lean, terse, concise approach would suit me better. If I want to know how to use flex-prims, to pick out one selection from the KB, I don't want to have to read jokey humorous inanities, I just want to see what the properties of flexi-prims are and how to manipulate them. It's not a magazine or a blog. Thank goodness this sort of verbose rambling doesn't occur in other technical information sources such Chemical Rubber Company's handbook of mathematical formulas. The tiki wiki was searchable by Google. I just did a domain specific google search for secondlife.com/knowledgebase with a search term of avatar. It produced one answer. I suspect there is more than one occurrence of the term avatar in the knowledge base. I just submitted http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/ to the Google spider system. Maybe that will help. Not my field. The record of which user contributed what seems to be lost from what I can see. _____________________

Well. There goes one of my sig entries.
![]() How, exactly, is it "your world, your imagination" if we can't even edit or add content to that thing? And what's going to happen to the old wiki sites that *ahem* a few of us bothered to make useful? _____________________
