Illusions in SL

Has anyone taken advantage of our 2d view in the 3-d world of SL and built any cool illusions?

For example, puttinge an eye texture on the inside of a hollow sphere (leaving the outside blank), makes an eye that seems to follow you. Has anyone done a more complex version of this trick, for example, the SL equivilant of the 3d Dragon Illusion?
Or the something like the Ames Room?, where a distorted build apears normal from a certian viewpoint, and the sizes of the occupants seem distorted instead? (If this doesn't make any sense click the link)

There's a great 3D style elevation map of Seacliff in the Welcome Area.

Long, long ago - when I actually had free time, I used to experiment with slicing up 360 degree panoramic images to give a 'holodeck' sort of effect.

I'm sure others have done the same thing, but its neat with crisp images that overlap well.

For a long time, a wraparound image of the Tokyo, Japan skyline filled the walls of my place. Nowadays, its a desert image of the Mount St. Helens, Washington area :)

Oneironaut Escher made some really cool "impossible" Escher builds that would look right from the right angle. I don't think they've been rezzed in a long time.

I've done some animation boxes where all six inside walls share a contiguous 360 degree looping animation. They came out quite cool but the required textures were ludicrously large and I only pull them out on rare occasions.

I think Seifert Surface did an Ames Room and showed it off at one of Zonax Delorean's show and tells not that long ago.

And, of course, the "holodeck" effect is all over, though (being biased since I helped with it...) I like Jessica Qin's VR Room the best. :D

Chromal Brodsky's 3d dragon illusion is at Perry (108, 150).

A version of my Ames room is installed upstairs in the Librarium, at Abitibi (200, 20). Sometime in the very far future I might make an entire house based on weird perspective tricks like this - would be a lot of fun :)

I'd love to see Oneironaut's Escher builds. I messed about with an impossible triangle for a while - it's hard to get it all looking good, a whole Escher build must have been a nightmare.

My Olive Upside Down Room is an optical illusion, of sorts. The key is to sit on the floor cushions and use mouselook. It is better if you have a friend with you and take turns walking on the ceiling. Olive 130,80.

I had a go at creating an Ames room after seeing this thread.

The result can be seen in Themiskyra walled town. Themiskyra:123,86

I know exactly what you mean! It was after seeing one of those dragons in SL that I actually made one out of paper, ( paper dragon illusion ) it's been sitting on my shelf ever since ...

I've built a perspective-aligned corridor; looks perfectly normal when you look at it from the end, but if you try and go down it, by about halfway your avatar anymore.

kami Kim and I were playing around with some forced persepctive shots in the Cowell village a few months ago. Here are a couple photos:

That's kami on the balcony... fee fi fo fum human-size.

And here she is with me -- giant-size. The folks in the tower are regular-size people.

We stood on a transparent prim close to the camera and high up off the plaza to produce the effects. In the first shot I rezzed a cube high up out-of-shot to the right and focused on it so it looked like I was looking at kami.
