Please vote for proposition 700 and help putting more pressure on Linden to concentrate on the bugs ONLY.

Many are complaining in the Second Life Answers forum about the Linden focus on new features instead of fixing age old bugs. This exactly what Proposition 700 is about. It has been active for almost a year, but aren't seeing that many votes.
But, perhaps you're satisfied with wading through the same bugs over and over, while trying to fight off the new ones that they add every week ?

If you look at the release notes for the lastest versions, you'll see that most of the bugs "fixed" in the bug list is related to the new features they introduced in the very same version. So, if fact, only a few "real" bugs has been addressed.

I do love SL, and I do love (some of) the new featues, but I still would rather see Linden focus on bug fixing FIRST and features second. Some of the changes they make seem to be totally at random and with NO resident interest behind them.
* Who requested them to move the Wear menu item into the place where Take Copy used to be ?
* Who asked them to implement the chat line focus mess ?
* Who wanted the Tab key to be exchanged for a Ctrl-\ kombo that is totally fingerbreaking on non-us keyboards ?
* Who asked for the color picker and the new snapshot mode ? Useful yes, but it came with a shitload of bugs and exploits which caused downtime and pissed off residents.

I haven't seen ANY of these changes on the vote list.

I do see prop 700. I put that up almost a year ago.

Now go do your part and VOTE.

gosh. that sound familiar.

Did my part over a year ago, almost exactly what you're doing now. And everyone that voted for it and got it passed by the Lindens did their part too. And you have all noticed the change their acknowledgment of that brought about!

In short. Why bother? Really? They don't listen or care.

Edit for information: Btw, shortly after that vote was 'acknowledged for development' (yeah, right), Robin posted this in the announcement forum, thus negating what the Lindens told us to do to express which bugs we specifically wanted to have fixed as a priority, without giving us another way of doing so (and the mentioned bug voting solution we still dont have now). So the proposal was swiftly acknowledged, swept under the carpet and conveniently forgotten in less than a week from proposing it. So I guess they DO act quickly sometimes...

So we should just give up, give in and live with the bugs ?
Never !

I just gave my 10 votes to proposition 700. No more features. No more flashy stuff until the bugs are fixed!

Honestly, forum discourse, email, and finding critical bugs "puts pressure on them" far more than the voting tool. Democracy is a great thing, but really, the tool is toothless.

Seems there is nothing to make them listen. Of course everyone could halt any and all purchase of ANY L's online and land until bugs are fixed. The problem is not everyone would do this. There are too many people who make L's of of the bugs. Such as content thieves.
