Cordova and Goguen crashing all the time

I spend a fair bit of time in Cordova and Goguen these days as they're the only places large enough for me to work on projects. The only problem is that they keep on freezing up and/or crashing. The time dilation dropping to 0.01 is a regular ocurrence. Never mind the gun-totin' nitwits. In the last 2 days I've had to relog or been logged out at 30 minute intervals or less. This is really frustrating. It's a good job I keep notes and backups of all my work. Are there any other large-ish sandboxes / build spaces that aren't quite as raddled as Cordova and Goguen?

This last time I lost an hours' work.... I guess there must have been a roll back or something. When I relogged all the work I had saved wasn't even in my inventory. Bleh.

If we told you where we build, the idiots would come there too.

Goguen is advertised as a vehicle building lot. However I never fail to see gigantic (high-primcount) structures and non-moving vehicles there. I can never get anything done with my vehicles in Goguen because of the extreme lag due all that inactive stuffing (inactive as in the owners of the object are nowhere to be found in Goguen). It doesn't crash on me, but as a sandbox, it's virtually useless.

While we're at it too many people leave these huge high-prim structures in sandboxes and once causing the Morris Sandbox to fill to capacity (no rezzes possible).

A lot of them are left behind by newbies also, people who don't realize that SIMs have a maximum capacity.

So to everyone out there, for the sake of keeping sandboxes viable, please delete the stuff you aren't working on or using. Try not to leave stuff behind when you logout.

The only time you'll see my stuff left behind while I'm offline is if I crashed or lost the item somewhere.

Aodhan, I'm not so sure..... I've been logged out from Cordova twice so far today while working there and it's far from a full house..... just a few kiddiz chasing each other around with particle toys. I'd really like to see LL rolling out a few more dedicated sandbox sims.

This is no fun..... got logged out of Gougen within minutes of arrving and after I log back in the time dilation drops through the floor. How am I ever supposed to get anything done?

We need more sandboxes! I'm on a constant search for good sandboxes, and now there are none left. :'( Each one is laggy, and super crowded. There were 35 people in Goguen tonight! Even the sky is full with that many people in one sim.

Lindens, please give us more sandboxes for building.

I agree, building in nice, calm secluded sandboxes is fine until someone decides to build a laggy shopping mall or camping-er night club right next to it. Its nice and all when you've got your own sim/a friends sim to build on, but most people don't have that much moochability to throw around like so many "We like Ike" campaign buttons.

The Sandboxes aren't *always* crashing, that would be unfair, its more like they're constantly crashing and its just your luck that you get to start building right before "Noobtastic Pontopaddin" starts playing with his new nuke toy, or someone decides its christmas and snowflakes would be better expressed as physics spheres.

Second we find a nice secluded one it gets found out by "Imanoob Skuzzlebutt" and the hilarity ensues. Which is understandable considering the sheer number of people just wandering about.

So, it would make sense to make more public sandboxes to lesson ones odds of annoyance whilst building the next great diamon heist, no?

That's because the gun-totin' nitwits are all using heavy-load scripts.

When is LL going to put all the GAMERZ in their own sandbox, devoted ONLY to gaming, and creative people can do their building in peace?

doesnt large Physics objects making contact with the ground affect Dialation leading to crashing sims?

They don't have to come in contact with the ground, just have alot of them falling will do it. Once, I saw cordova go down due to a popcorn machine that spurted popcorn too much when someone touched it too fast and the corn never hit the ground.

Im totally in agreement about the purpose of this thread here.

Since discovering SL back in September, the sandboxes have always been my home. Also (except for a 5 week period around winter break) Ive been a very regular resident of them.

And saying that, I have to make my judgement that living in them has become less and less pleasent. All the time there is more and more people sharing them, and more of these people seem to be greifers with access to all manner of annoying objects. They ruin your time when they come right up to you and blast you with guns/bombs, and they ruin your time when this is going on all across the rest of hte sim and you can barely play anymore.

Me and my freinds will often end up must going from sandbox to sandbox looking for somethign better, but there never seems to be anymore.

Please we need more sandboxes, I miss my home =(
